me i do not really know i do not really have any in mond.even though my classmate is trying to get to ask out a girl in my class.what do i do.all the jw indocrination has me nervous about confronting this girl.i could try it takes time to confront members of the opposite sex.but pratice makes perfect.

Ex-Jehovah's Witnesses and the irreversible decision
by Celestial insome business opportunities unfolded sometime back that required my full attention and excessive work hours that ended up putting a strain on me.
i started taking the edge off by drinking alcohol, too much alcohol.
the cycle of working and drinking ended up destroying my spirituality and i eventually completely quit attending meetings and every other aspect of kingdom service.

There is no Evil slave class . This forum is made up of many different individuals all with their own reasons for coming here .
There are a wide variety of topics to follow depending on personal interests . I for one never read any of the doctrine /bible debate threads ,because I no longer care ,but that is just me .
I am interested in people ,and if I can help someone else with their journey away from Watchtower control then I feel it is still useful to hang around here . It is nice to come to a place where the people understand your past and your pain .
I don't consider myself an enemy of JW's ,but I have no problem warning others about what they really believe and practice . People have the right to believe what they want ,and if they are happy with it let them be , however, if someone is doubting and searching I am more than happy to share my experience with them .

dirty trick at the meeting re facebook
by Aussie Oz inmy daughter told me about last weeks service meeting part on facebook.... the brother doing the parts asked for a show of hands who had a facebook account.. apparently a number of elders did.. (she did not put up her hand...in fact recently deleted all jws off her friends because she doesnt want them to know anything about her life).
i thought that was a dirty trick to pull.. oz.

I just think it is funny that the Society is failing so miserably controling it's members from using modern social networks .
Before I left, Myspace was the big scary network all our children were warned not to be on ......A young twenty year old sister came to my house after a meeting with the Elders on the service committee They had told her she would not be approved as a pioneer until she deleted her myspace account ! She boo hooed on my shoulder ,but finally gave in to them ....now ELDERS in that very same congregation have Facebook accounts !!!
I always hated it when they would pose questions to the audience like they did as ozzie quoted about . Usually it was about some movie we had seen or book we have read ,then they would offer ,'Well no TRUE Christian would be proud to admit that ...." Just a way to embarrass or manipulate .
As far as theshepard is concerned ,he seems quite young and naive as to how the organization has operated over the past . What he has been privy to, and what I grew up with in the organization are two worlds apart !

Brought tears of sorrow to my eyes
by NVR2L8 intwo nights ago it was meeting night for the "believing" members of my familly.
my wife who is usually the most regular at attending meetings decided to stay home because she wasn't feeling well.
my unbaptized son and his active wife weren't going either.

I call B.S. on the Mother telling the little girl not to ask you questions about why you do not got to meetings !!!! Bothers ME big time ! It obviously is something she is wondering about, possibly worried about ,she hears adults talking about you when you are not around and she deserves to hear from YOU the real reasons . Please take the time to privately speak with her and find out her concerns ,ask her what she thinks .
When I was little my Mom was a Witness my Dad was not . I was not allowed to discuss Witness business in front of him (in fear it might make him mad ). It did a LOT of damage to our relationship . I grew up thinking I could not go to him for anything important ,he was basically someone not to be trusted . Meetings reinforced those thoughts !
PLEASE DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN IN YOUR FAMILY !!!

Social networks a huge no from the service meetings!
by life is to short inok so i sort of tie in and listen to the meetings.
the elders blocked my number lasy fall but then they let me back in???
not a clue what that was about.. so anywho these last two service parts have been on social networks.

They have to keep having these parts on the meeting because NO ONE is listening to them ! In my area lots of JW's have facebook accounts including several Elders . People are getting stubborn I think ,and choosing to disobey 'Mother' when they see nothing wrong wiith their actions .

Miraculous news about my daugher, Ali
by coffee_black init's a little over a year since my daughter was diagnosed with end stage congestive heart failure due to a virus.
her dr. was talking heart transplant then.. i almost lost her 3 times over the past year due to complications.
2011 was a tough year to put it mildly.

Now it shows up on a facebook Jehovah's Witness site with my name attached as the sharer ??? Many of the people I know from my old congregation belong to that site too ....I just don't know why the link showed up there ,I don't belong to that site .
I also noticed the other day quite a few local, active JW's have started accounts lately .Even an Elder we were friends with has started an account , and he includes his DF'd son as a contact ....I think that is great ,but WOW what a change . Guess they all need those timely reminders coming up at the yearly convention to guilt them back into accordance to protocol for 'true' Christians .
